Mark Bittman (writer devoted to connecting food-health-environment) shares some interesting updates in this op-ed in the New York Times.
He has strong opinions, and perhaps politics, but if you sift through, you’ll find things like:  Walt Disney’s actions to curb junk food marketing; McDonald’s (yes, that’s right!) plan to phase out pork gestation crates from its supply chain (as well as Kroger’s work on this); and Subway’s new vegan sandwiches.   And, if Bittman’s comments about the farm bill lose you, move on to Iron Chef Michael Symon and find out why he’s doing a Meatless Monday!
