Happy Pride Month, MG! Join us all month long as we celebrate by featuring trailblazing Chefs in various fields, all belonging to the LGBTQ+ community!
We’re kicking off this month-long celebration with our first feature, Nik Sharma. Born and raised in Bombay, India, Nik moved to America for graduate school, where he began his culinary journey. What started as a hobby in 2011 while working as a molecular biologist evolved into a vibrant career as a pastry chef, food stylist, and author. Nik now resides in Los Angeles, where he continues to develop unique recipes and share his passion for food through his cookbooks and online presence.
“Being traditional has never been my thing because at the end of the day I don’t identify. I actually don’t even like the word traditional, I don’t like the word authentic, and I try my best to refrain from using that when I write because if you think about it, there’s nothing that is traditional, right?”

Comenzamos esta celebración con nuestro primer personaje, Nik Sharma. Nacido y criado en Bombay, India, Nik se mudó a Estados Unidos para realizar estudios de posgrado, donde comenzó su viaje culinario. “Ser tradicional nunca ha sido lo mío porque al final del día no me identifico. De hecho, ni siquiera me gusta la palabra tradicional, no me gusta la palabra auténtico, y hago todo lo posible por abstenerme de usarlas cuando escribo porque, si lo piensas bien, no hay nada que sea tradicional, ¿cierto?
