¡Hoy tenemos una emocionante doble sesión! Les presentamos a Yelitza y Jesús Lezama, hermanos, originarios de Venezuela. Guardan muchos recuerdos entrañables de la comida como una forma de unir a todos y celebrar la vida. “En Venezuela, la mesa es símbolo de amor, compartir y alegría. Cada plato refleja nuestra diversidad cultural: indígena, africana y española, que se entrelazan en sabores únicos. Preparar nuestras comidas tradicionales significa revivir historias, transmitir valores y mantener vivas nuestras raíces.”
El plato que ellos consideran representativo de su familia y tradiciones son las hallacas, que preparan juntos cada diciembre. “Las hallacas representan a Venezuela: una mezcla de culturas y sabores que se convierten en símbolo de identidad. Compartirlas en Navidad es como abrazar a nuestro país, aunque estemos lejos.” MG representa el esfuerzo, la perseverancia y la pasión que mi familia me inculcó desde pequeña. Crecí con la convicción de que el trabajo no es solo un medio para alcanzar metas, sino una forma de dejar huella, de aportar lo mejor de nosotros mismos al mundo. MG me conecta con mis raíces porque con cada proyecto, cada logro y cada reto superado, recuerdo que vengo de una tierra de gente trabajadora, noble y resiliente que no se rinde ante las dificultades y siempre encuentra la manera de salir adelante. ¡Sonreír y apoyar a un cliente, incluso si no entiendo mucho el idioma, me hace feliz!
Today we have an exciting double feature! Introducing Yelitza and Jesus Lezama, brother and sister, originally from Venezuela. They have many fond memories of food being a way to bring everyone together and celebrate life. “In Venezuela, the table is a symbol of love, sharing, and joy. Each dish reflects our cultural diversity: Indigenous, African, and Spanish, which intertwine in unique flavors. Preparing our traditional meals means reliving stories, transmitting values, and keeping our roots alive.”
The dish that they feel represents their family and traditions is hallacas, which they gather to prepare together every December. “Hallacas represent Venezuela itself: a blend of cultures and flavors that become a symbol of identity. Sharing them at Christmas is like embracing our country, even though we’re far away.”
“MG represents the effort, perseverance, and passion my family taught me since I was a child. I grew up with the conviction that work is not only a means to achieve goals, but a way to leave a mark, to contribute the best of who we are to the world. MG connects me with my roots because with every project, every achievement, and every challenge overcome, I am reminded that I come from a land of hardworking, noble, and resilient people who don’t give up in the face of difficulties and always find a way to move forward.
