This Sunday’s corner office feature in the NYT was perfectly timed.
Having just finished our second Foodie hands-on training at St. Catherine’s last week – this subject has been top of mind. We saw many examples of true mentorship, like fellow classmates (and trained chefs) stepping in to help instructors teach knife skills.
Think about your earliest memories on the job — how did you learn? Who helped you? Now think about how you’ve passed on what you know. Have you ever stopped short of showing and telling someone how you learned because you were afraid to hurt their feelings? Think about how to do it like a “mentor.” No matter how young, old, new or experienced you are – be a mentor and seek one out for yourself. Keep that river of wisdom flowing!
