At the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Laila Edwards not only helped lead Team USA to Olympic women’s hockey gold, she made history in the process. With an Olympic gold medal around her neck, Laila cemented her place in history as the first Black woman to win gold and the first to play for the U.S. Women’s Hockey Team. She finished among the top scorers and assisted on the game-tying play that sent the gold medal final into overtime. Her journey inspires young women athletes everywhere to dream bigger, push harder, and continue to break barriers.
